Changing the web design colours

Each web design template you download from the members area comes with a file called template_css.css

The CSS file controls the web design layout for the module positions, content, menu items and colour scheme including text.

If you would like to change the colours for the menu items, text then please complete the following.

1) Download and install a free utility called Pixie which enables you to pick any colour displayed on your screen and extract the html code for that colour.
2) Install the template of your choice from the members area.
3) Now open the Pixie utility and hover over template item colour you wish to change. As you hover over each item the HTML code will change. For example if you hover over a green colour with the pixie tool the following HTML code will appear #7AB400.
4) Make a note of each colour code you wish to change.
5) Once you have a list of the colours code you want to change you need to find the replacement colour codes. Basically visit a web site with a colour scheme you like or use a colour chart to help you find the right colours. As noted above use Pixie to extract the HTML codes.
6) All you now need to do is open the template_css.css file using notepad.exe and do a search / replace on the colour codes you would like to change. For example you would like to change the green text to blue text then search for #7AB400 and replace it with 0E8B3E.
7) Upload the amended template_css.css file to the server and you should now see the changes via your Joomla web site.
