Installing a Joomla Web Design Template


To install a Joomla you have downloaded from the members area please complete the following.

  1. Download the joomla template package from the members area.
  2. Unzip the template package.
  3. Inside the zip package you will find a number of directories which include the web design releases for Joomla 1.x plus 1.5.
  4. The template package will also include the installation guide plus Photoshop PSD file if supplied.
  5. Log ino the Joomla administrator area.
  6. Select the Extensions menu and install / uninstall menu item.
  7. Choose the browse button and select the web design zip file included in the Joomla 1.5 directory.
  8. Select the upload & install button.
  9. The web design will now be automatically installed.
  10. To make the new theme the default web design select the extensions menu and template manager menu.
  11. You will now see the theme you have just installed.
  12. Select the radio button next to the theme and choose the default button.
  13. The web design will now be set as the default design.
